The last months have proven challenge for many sectors, with many events cancelled and even more virtual endeavors taking place. The annual cheese awards has been postponed due to Covid-19 and due to this the first Virtual Cheese Awards will take place next month in support of British cheesemakers and dairy farmers.
Two veterans of the British cheese industry, Nigel Pooly and Sarah De Wit, have come together to launch the UK’s first Virtual Cheese Awards. The Virtual Cheese Awards will look at 31 British classes of cheese and judging will take place online.
The whole Judging process will be open for all to view online. The supreme champion will be announced live on Saturday 18 July 2020.
“The aim of the awards is to raise awareness of UK producers, celebrate the Cheese Industry and ultimately raise funds to help dairy and agriculture charities that support producers and farmers,” a statement said according the event’s website.
