The biennial animal husbandry show EuroTier will be held digitally-only due to Covid-19. The online event will take place 9-12 February 2021.
That news was shared by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), which is organising the event. The show is normally held every November in Hanover, Germany, in even years, but the 2020 edition had already been postponed to February 2021 for reasons of Covid-19. Seeing that there is no real improvement in the Covid-19 situation in many places around the globe, a further modification of the plans was already widely anticipated. After all, VIV Asia 2021, planned for March in Bangkok, Thailand, was already postponed to September 2021 for similar reasons.
EnergyDecentral, the show element for innovative energy supply, which is always held in co-location with EuroTier, will also be held digitally.
Visitors to the online version of EuroTier can log in at “EuroTier Digital” as from 1 February, to discover participating companies and the technical programme. Making appointments for audio-video meetings will also be possible, as well as contacting other participants. Full functionalities, including a calendar, text, chat, audio and video will be available as from 9 February, including trade fair cafes as well as the events programme.
Upon registration, each participant will receive a profile and his/her personal overview with agreed appointments and recommendations for relevant manufacturers, a programme and contacts.
VIV Asia postponed until September 2021
The trade show, which was originally scheduled for March 2021, has been postponed to 22-24 September 2021 due to Covid-19 related restrictions.
Exhibiting companies will present themselves on interactive business cards, the news item explained. These so-called tiles will lead to the exhibitor profile, offering direct contact to the company’s employees with audio-video meetings as well as to a showroom, where manufacturers can present topics and events.
Companies can register being following 3 levels, either ‘smart’, ‘pioneer’ or ‘global’, depending on the number of functions they would like to be showing.
Covid-19: Impact on the global dairy sector
The coronavirus has had a huge impact on daily life from the man on the street to businesses. And the dairy sector, even more essential than ever, has not gone unscathed. Keep up-to-date.
“DLG Studio” and “DLG Spotlights” will feature international top speakers, which will be presented live or via live-stream and there will be opportunities to interact with speakers via chats, Q&A or voting. In addition, there will be discussion forums, both in public or private form.
After the show, as from 13 February, the platform will still be visible until 15 April 2021. At that stage, no audio and video options will be available. The complete timeline as to what is possible can be found at the EuroTier website.
